Divergence meter

What is this?
A Steins;Gate-inspired stand-in for a real divergence meter. Ξ is a dimensionless estimate of our position along the universe's cosmological trajectory. It is derived from globally measurable physical quantities rather than any observer's proper time.
Definition
Ξ is the vacuum fraction of the modeled total energy density.
a is the scale factor (a = 1 today, and 0 just means today's values). ΩΛ,0 is vacuum energy, which stays constant; Ωm,0 is matter, which thins out as a−3; Ωr,0 is radiation, which thins out faster, as a−4. So Ξ starts near 0 and climbs toward 1.
What does it mean?
Nothing scientific. This doesn't say anything profound about the universe and it isn't revealing anything new. Presumably, if the universe switched worldlines, there would be residue somewhere. Entropy, the cosmic microwave background, cosmic expansion, something should be different. If we switched worldlines, these ontological values should switch with them, and someone with Reading Steiner would notice the difference in the divergence meter.
Inferometers
CMB thermometer
T ∝ a⁻¹ / aT = T₀ / T
Measured today: T₀ = 2.7255 K. The thermal background cools as space expands.
Matter / radiation
ρm ∝ a⁻³ / ρr ∝ a⁻⁴
Equality: Planck-inferred z ≈ 3402; these rounded densities give z ≈ 3419.
Matter / vacuum
ρm ∝ a⁻³ / ρΛ ≈ constant
Equality at a ≈ 0.772, z ≈ 0.296. Vacuum eventually dominates.
Expansion
H² / H₀² ≈ Ωm,0 a⁻³ + Ωr,0 a⁻⁴ + ΩΛ,0
H₀ ≈ 67.4 km/s/Mpc. Invert the Friedmann relation to estimate a. Rounded inputs are normalized at a = 1.
Global agreement C
Illustrativea = 1.0000
C measures how consistently independent physical inferometers recover the same latent cosmological state.
No measured C is available. These channels share one model, so their illustrated alignment is not an independent consistency test.
Cosmic composition
AT a = 1.0000Matter dilutes. Radiation dilutes faster.
Vacuum stays constant in this model.
Why observers must agree
In an approximately homogeneous ΛCDM universe, sufficiently informed observers can use large-scale physical measurements to infer the same latent expansion state. There is always measurement uncertainty; and observations across a light cone require a separate model (they are not automatically simultaneous global measurements, although they probably wouldn't differ much). A real agreement C would need independent measurements, their errors, and their covariance.
Limitations
Defining global observables or a preferred epoch is difficult in arbitrary general-relativistic spacetimes. The coordinate depends on the cosmological model, assumptions of large-scale homogeneity, and dark energy behaving like a constant vacuum density. Local measurement noise and correlated data complicate agreement. The radiation term is an effective approximation; a full treatment tracks neutrino physics. Before the CMB decouples, the thermometer represents an extrapolated thermal bath, and the far future assumes ΛCDM continues to hold.
With radiation included, matter/vacuum equality gives Ξ ≈ 0.49991, close to 0.5. Exactly Ξ = 0.5 means vacuum equals matter plus radiation. The rounded present-day inputs sum to 1.0000921; H is normalized by that sum so H(1) = H₀.
